Hi All,

I am in the process of applying for ILR for my daughter(born in India ), but she has a valid tier2 dependent visa till 2026 October, As her mother got ILR recently and she is eligible for Citizenship January 2026, Can we apply for direct citizenship for daughter in 2026 January along with Mother's application or does she need to get ILR first and apply for citizenship, Please suggest me .

The child needs ilr first if she was born abroad and can only apply for citizenship when one parent is applying or is already British and the child and other parent hold ilr.

What is your immigration status?

The child applies for ilr when you do.

Child can then apply for citizenship when your wife does.

There is no shortcut route for your child.
