Applying for ILR after 5 years Spousal Visa

Hi,

This forum has been so useful for me for the years in getting some information about visa applications. Thank you very much for all that you do.

Back to my question to ask (I could not find a thread discussing the topic hence why I am here). My wife will soon qualify for ILR through the 5-year spousal visa route. I want to check if she can apply for British citizenship immediately after receiving approval for ILR rather than wait a year before applying. I hold a citizenship status. I would appreciate being directed to the link on the gov.uk website, if possible. I believe she can apply for ILR 28 days before the qualifying period.

Thanks in advance.

You will be eligible for ILR within 28 days of completing the 5 years in the UK.
The spouse of a British citizen can apply for naturalisation immediately after getting ILR. This is according to the nationality law.
