I came to the UK on 30-May-2015 on ICT short term 1yr LTE visa & left the country on 20-May-2016 to process/apply ICT long term 5yr visa. Again came back on 06-Sep-2016, ie., I have spent 110 days outside the country.

When does the ILR for long term residence qualifying period starts for me please? Does it start on 30-May-2015 or 06-Sep-2016?

If you left the UK with a valid visa and re-entered within 6 months, your lawful qualifying period is maintained. For the long residence, the qualifying 10 years is counted backwards from the date of ILR decision

Thank you. When is the earliest I’m eligible to apply for ILR please? 30-May-2025 or 17-September-2025 (adding the 110 days staying outside the country without a valid visa)

The earliest date that you can be granted ILR is (30-May-2015 + 10 years - 28 days)

Thank you Zimba.

So it appears like, I needn’t spend the additional time now, which I had spent earlier (about 110 days), while processing a new visa outside the UK. Is my understanding correct please?
