I submitted application for indefinite leave to remain for my wife and daughter in the same application in Oct ‘24. When i applied, I already had my ILR status on Tier 2 general route. Just last week I got a response from home office that due to an incorrect category selected error, and we need to submit a new application for a refund to be processed. I. The original application had “00” appended to the application reference number for wife and “01” for daughter.

Update from home office

Dear {Firtname}{Lastnane}

Ref: xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx DG

The update from home office only included my wife’s name and application number with DG appended so I am not sure what is the status of my daughter’s application as both applications were grouped together. I have just submitted a new application for my wife only but not sure what will happen to my daughter’s application.

What category did you select in error?
If they were both part of the application, then why did you apply only for your wife ???

I selected Tier1 , mistakenly offcourse and applied for my wife as the home office update email only mentioned my wife’s name. There was no mention of second applicant.

That is another mistake. You should have applied again under the correct category and included both as you originally did. It was the same application with two applicants in it. What did you expect your kid's application to be ??? The fact that UKVI did not mention the child is irrelevant. You should have sought advice earlier on this. Now go ahead and apply for the child too
