Hello moderators, please i need your advice. The last time I applied for 2.5 years for my daughter, but now she is 20 years old and now due for ILR. She is a student at university, and I am confused about what documents she will now need for her application. Thanks in advance

Applying under the Family, private life, or long residence routes are all different. Provide proper immigration history

Sorry about that, reading the home letter, it's says she was granted leave under the ten years private life route.

She should apply here using form SET(PL): https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... -and-other
The system will give you a document list. It should be minimal

Hi Zimba

Under good character the application asked if you have remained beyond the validity of your visa or permission to stay. She didnt come with a visa, but with an American passport. How do I answer this. And the documentation to provide only asked for a valid passport, please is that enough.

A non-visa national (e.g a US national) does not need a visa to travel to the UK and this has nothing to do with their character.
Technically there is no good character requirement for ILR at all, there are only rules that determine grounds for refusal. The good character requirement exists only when going for a nationality application (British citizenship) which is a totally separate system under nationality law.

I have submitted with standard service. One more question, please does the 28 days apply to settlement, or do you put in your application in when you complete your 10 years. I am asking because i am putting in my application as well. Thanks

What i mean to ask is I completed 10 years last year August, do I have to apply within the 28 days before my present visa expires or can I apply now, thanks.

In a nutshell, the 28 day concession simply allows applicants to be granted ILR up to 28 days early and before they fully complete their qualifying period. If you already have 10 years of lawful residence, then there is no early grant of ILR concession to benefit from as you already have completed the qualifying period fully. Do not confuse yourself.

Also current visa expiry is irrelevant for ILR. You can apply now.
