Just to double check Is this the right form I apply for called Apply to settle in the UK – Private Life as my wife will apply in 2026.
As usual do I apply with in 28 days of her visa expiring as this states in her current decision letter.

Wait closer to the time, 2026 is still a way off.

Why seeking all such details when you still have ro wait for "when the time comes"? More reasonable to ask when closer to that time. Things and a whole lot of things could have changed

Im just asking in advance rather then asking near the time so this helps the form may change I don't think it will change cause If they made one ILR form for everyone rather then corresponding to the visa you was on so they will have to do more checking where it might take longer time knowing which visa you was on cause you applied on the on the right ILR form so they can cross check that with the Visa you had makes it more simple.

FLR(FP) grants leave under multiple routes, are you under the private life route?
After 10 years of continuous lawful residence, you can either apply under the private life route or the long residence route, the choice is yours.

You have been granted permission to stay in the United Kingdom (UK) under
the Immigration Rules for Family Member as a partner on the 10-year route to
settlement.
I will apply for under private life then thanks for mergeing the thread to my question I made.
I dont know what I would of done without Immigration boards I really appreciate the help many people give here you learn something and can give advice back from own experience or just helping out. we are just some ordinary people helping each other.

You should apply either using SET(M) settlement adult relative form or SET(LR), not private life !

Set M Form says Use a different form if you have spent 10 years with permission to qualify for settlement.
Do not use this form if:
your current leave to remain is as a partner or parent on the 10 year family route. This means you have had permission to stay in the UK for at least 10 years. Applications for settlement on that route will open on 20 June 2022 when the new ‘Settlement as a partner or parent’ and ‘Settlement as a child (including a child aged over 18 already in the UK as a dependent)’ forms will be available on the gov.uk website
So definitely not Set M.
Set LR says
You may be able to apply for indefinite leave to remain if you’ve been in the UK legally for 10 continuous years (known as ‘long residence’).
Indefinite leave to remain is how you settle in the UK. It’s also called ‘settlement’. It gives you the right to live, work and study here for as long as you like, and apply for benefits if you’re eligible. You can use it to apply for British citizenship.
Which one form I fill in shes on FLR FP 10 years partner route has to be long residency

You are correct, I always forget the form changes for the 10-year family route.
Apply here:
https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... t-relative
SET(LR) can also be used
regardless of the visa route you are on and can be used as long as you have 10 years (aka ILR under long residence)
The choice is yours

There will be minimal docs needed. Passports, BRP, LIUK and proof of English language

Hi Guys
I wanted to know my wife has had her first visa granted in 2014 FLR FP 10 year route to ILR so if you count from 2014 so is she eligible to apply for ILR this year we know when we apply for visa extension that what ever current visa you have is still valid even tho it's expired as your waiting for a decision on the visa extension but does the time still count while waiting for the decision or has it only counts when you have the visa granted.

My partners first visa was given in 2014 under FLR fp 10 year router to ILR partner route.
Im confused is it 10 years snice 2014 from first time of application then in between apply for extention we know leave is still valid until decision is made would that mean she can apply for ILR or have to wait finish 10 years from date of each extension is granted

The 10 years is counted
backwards from the date of ILR decision.
See:
Applicants can benefit from the date of the ILR decision
Note that the historical 10 years can no longer be relied on.
See:
Lawful and continuous residence changes to Long Residence route from 11 April 2024
