Entry date & 5 year qualifying period

Hi folks. I'm almost ready to submit my ILR application! But I'm fretting about what date to select for my date for first entry to the UK "upon which the application is based".

I have been in the UK since 2014, when I entered on a Tier 4 student visa. Since then, I have been on holidays however I have made all subsequent visa Tier 2/Skilled Worker applications from within the UK. I have had 3 Skilled worker visas.

Is the 2014 date the correct date for first entry? I don't want to submit every absence I've had in the last 11 years (firstly because I did have more than 180 days outside the UK, but this was now more than 5 years ago, and secondly because it will take me forever).

So should I be selecting a different date that is 5 years ago, as this is the continuous residence period required for ILR?

Thanks you for any help!

That date has no effect on the application or how you should list your absence. Enter the date you entered the UK in 2014. Only declare the absences in the last 5 years. These are not related
