Do I Need Leave of Absence Letter from Previous Employer for ILR?

:( Hi everyone,

I’m currently preparing my ILR application, and I’ve got a quick question about documents related to absences from the UK.

While working here, I’ve travelled back to India a few times — usually just annual leave, about a month each year. I have a leave of absence letter and a supporting letter from my current employer, where I’ve been working for the past 3 years.

However, before this job, I was with another company, and I’ve tried reaching out to them to get a similar leave of absence letter, but they haven’t replied.

So, I’m wondering — is that document from my previous employer really mandatory for the ILR application? Or would it be fine to apply with only the current employer’s letter and explain the situation if asked?

Has anyone been in a similar situation recently? Any advice would be really appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

You don't need anything from previous employers to apply for ILR!

The letter from your current employer only needs to include that you'll be needed for the foreseeable future.
