ILR application- previous passports

Hi all,

I'm planning to apply ILR via 5 year skilled worker route.

I have been in the UK for more than 10 years- previously on tier 4 student visa, then health and care worker visa, and currently skilled worker health and care visa.
On the application form, they requested for all previous passports. The issue is-
1. I have lost my passport in 2013 which I have a police report
for.
2. When I renewed my passport back in 2018, my old expired passport was kept by the consulate and they only gave me the new one.

So currently I only have my current passport and 1x old passport from 2018.

I'm planning to write a cover letter to explain this.

Would this be an issue? Anyone had similar issue and had no problem?
Thanks!

You only submit the passports covering the last 5 years

Thank you! Is this the same for previous BRPs as well- just for the last 5 years? No need to include previous ones I’ve had in the last 10 years?

Also, another query- my husband is applying as my dependent too. He has been working with the same company for more than 5 years- so he’s keen to include letter from his employer and payslip too. Would this be helpful as additional supporting documents although it’s not in the mandatory document list?

Thanks again!

You do not need to include any BRPs. All BRPs are phased out. You do not need to send UKVI what they issued to you in the past.
Dependants do not have any employment or financial requirement. Do not add unnecessary documents

Thank you, Zimba!

Sorry just one last clarification (sorry for any inconvenience!)-

i know you said only passports covering last 5 years are needed since I’m applying via the 5 year skilled worker route, but the documents list asked for ‘all previous passports, travel documents or national identity cards that you have used to travel to or remain in the UK’. Do I just ignore the wording and provide evidence to cover 5 years rather than from when I first arrived in the UK (more than 10 years)? Sorry if the question is somewhat repetitive.

Thanks!

Yes, ignore the wording. Documents are provided to satisfy specific requirements under the rules, rather than a full disclosure

Thank you.

Sorry again, one last question!

For travel history, they asked “since first entered the UK, have you had any absences from the UK” which is a yes, then “which countries did you visit or travel through when absent from the UK and crown dependencies?”- do I just list out travel history for last 5 years too rather than from first arrival in UK (more than 10 years ago)?

I wish they specify the length clearly in the questions.. sorry about this.

Thank you in advance!

Only the last 5 years matter
