Hello,
I am seeking guidance on which ILR route I should pursue:

10-Year Long Residence route, or
Skilled Worker visa (5-year route).

Here is my immigration history:

Entered the UK on an ICT Short-Term visa on 21 April 2016 and returned to India on 12 April 2017.
Returned to the UK on an ICT Long-Term visa on 05 July 2017 and have been residing here continuously since then.
My ICT Long-Term visa was converted to a Skilled Worker visa on 09 May 2021.

Based on this:

I will complete 10 years of residence in April 2026 (counting from my first entry in 2016).
I will complete 5 years on a Skilled Worker visa in May 2026.

Could you please advise which route would be more appropriate for me to apply for ILR?
Thank you.

Summary -
Start Date End Date Remark
21-Apr-16 12-Apr-17 ICT short term Visa UK Arrival on 21 April 2016 And travelled back to India on 12 April 2017
5-Jul-17 UK Arrived on ICT long term Visa
9-May-21 Converted on Skilled worker

Both routes are possible, the choice is yours.

Make sure to read the 2024 change to the long residence route --> Changes to the Long Residence settlement route from 11 April 2024
