Skilled Worker to ILR - Can I reuse 2021 PTE Academic UKVI English test?

Hi all,

I am currently on a Skilled Worker visa and expect to become eligible for ILR around Nov/Dec 2026.

Immigration history:
  • Initial Skilled Worker visa granted in December 2021.
  • English language requirement met using PTE Academic UKVI.
  • Visa extended in 2023 for a further 2 years.
  • No new English language evidence was requested for the extension.
My PTE certificate itself was only valid for 2 years and has now expired.

For my upcoming ILR application:

1. Can I rely on the PTE Academic UKVI test that was accepted for my original Skilled Worker visa application?
2. Does the fact that the certificate has expired matter if it was previously accepted by UKVI?
3. Alternatively, would I need either:
i) a new B1 SELT/PTE test, or
ii) a UK ENIC/Ecctis (Qualification and Language Service) statement based on my degree?

Has anyone had a similar Skilled Worker/Tier 2 to ILR case recently?

Thanks.
Aswin.
