Nothing to do with HR Art8 just a UK local law.
And lots here feel it will disappear in the ILR shake up due very soon...
I suspect the HO will be blocking all those who enrol on daft course course after daft course as a student to rack up 10 years.
Daft course?

Could you please explain in more details. On one hand you say it's local law but on the other hand you mention Human Rights article. Then it means that even if they cancel this UK law, all who lived 10 years legally will still be eligible because of Human Rights law until they go out of this law which is probably highly unlikely, correct?
I did not clearly understand what do you mean by daft course? Do you mean HO will issue less student visas?
Thank you very much.

Why Human Rights? Doesn't apply here. HR Art8 helps those burdened with no choice, if you have a realistic choice, no Art 8. 10 years in UK doesn't mean no choice to return home.
We see lots of perennial students here, just applying to get on any course without thought to career, just to accrue ten years legal stay.

I think you refer to the wrong article. There is such law, it's probably another one.
Regarding students, I don't think many people do it. HO never gave student visa to short time / cheap courses for more than 2 years. Then you have to study for many years with overseas fee of 8-10K per year and you also have to study well in order to get award. Not many people will do it and can do it.
