Hi Folks,

I am currently in UK on Tier 1 (General) visa along with spouse and kid, both on dependent visa. The visa was issued in May 2008 and is valid until May 2011. I came to UK in April 2006 on Work Permit and remained so until I switched to Tier 1. I was employed throughout i.e. from 04/06 to 08/09 with the same company. I am unemployed since 08/09. Since my spouse is working and I have had some savings as well, finances (no contributions from other sources) have not been a problem and shall not be so even if I stay unemployed until my application for ILR in April 2011. Though it's a bit early for ILR application, I have a few questions in this regard so that I can plan/prepare accordingly.

1. How long can I stay unemployed without affecting my ILR application adversely?

2. As all expenses are now met by my spouse' salary and partly by my savings, can this go against my ILR application as not being able to support my dependents?

Thanking in advance,
Sam.
