what application form to use...

Post by diversitypeople » Wed Dec 02, 2009 11:39 am

Details of my situation are below...

- arrived in the uk sept 2000 on student visa..
- studied from september 2000- july 2003 at which time left college..
- august 2003 visa ran out, starting overstaying until present..
- september 2001 met present wife..
- october 2002 had my daughter..
- april 2005 got married and still with wife..
- january 2010 would like to put in an application

I would like to make my status legal if possible but i'm confused what form to use if it's flr(m), set(o), set(m) etc.. went to see a lawyer and he suggested set(o) however when i read the guidlines it clearly says you have to have limited time before using this form...

any help would be grateful..

Thank you

What nationality is your wife - is she British?

From what I recall, the SET(O) form would apply if you had 14 years of continuous stay (due to the fact that you have overstayed) and not 10...assuming you were considering the long residence concession?
