ILR and new foreign passport

Hi everyone,
Just got my foreign nationals pasport renewed. For some reason the embassy in my home country keeps changing the rules as to how the family names shall be spelled. So my surname got changed a little bit (just one letter).
I am going to have an appointment at Croydon in one months time. Now I am warried that the change of spelling might result in some problems there.
Of course I have my old pasport and can prove that I am is who I am, but nevetheless who knows what the case workers may say.
I would appreciate if someone could share his/her experience in similar situation. Assuming I am not the only person who's surname got changed:)
Thanks in advance
