Hello everyone,

Could someone please provide me a list of documents required for dependents when applying for their ILR together with me in SET(O) form. I have been unable to find a sensible source of this information. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks.

Have you looked into section 9 of set (O)?

Yes but it is not mentioned anywhere that my wife need to be in the UK for two years as my dependent for being able to apply for ILR, isn't this a requirement ?

If so, would I need to prove that she has stayed with me for two years..

Or am I just being peranoidal ?

UKBA wrote: Section 2 - dependants included on your application

You should enter details of any dependants you are including as part of your application. You should read the section on Dependantsto make sure those you include on your application meet the requirements....

Thanks, so

Birth certificates for dependant children
You should provide birth certificates for all dependant children included as part of your application.

Marriage or civil partnership certificate
You should provide your marriage or civil partnership certificate if you have included your husband, wife or civil partner as a dependant on your application.

Unmarried partner
If you are not married to your partner but have included them as a dependant on your application you need to send evidence that you have been in a relationship for at least two years. This evidence could include:

evidence that any previous marriage, civil partnership or similar relationship has permanently broken down; or
evidence that you have been living together in a relationship similar to a marriage or civil partnership for two years or more; or
documents showing joint commitments such as bank accounts, investments, rent agreements or mortgages; or
letters linking you to the same address; or
official records of your address such as your National Insurance card or health card.

Does this mean that I do not need to provide docs which cover two years joint account bank statements, bills etc at all if we are married and if I have the marriage certificate ?

MIM you're confusing yourself with Set (O) and Set (M) which are totally different. the time of stay for your wife will be the same as your timeline...5yrs or 4yrs if HSMP JR and that you;re spouse should be here in the UK for at least 2 yrs.

Set (M) is for person already settled (with ILR) in the UK ...you're only about to apply for ILR...hence there is a difference.

I agree with you my friend, and thank you very much for your clarifying things for me.

Please have a look at the link below :

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... documents/

and let me know your opinion on this.

It does not state at all that these two years docs are required....

Any clarification will be gratefully appreciated. Thanks
