Hello Guys,

I got Workpermit Visa on 22nd of Feb 2005 and I have booked an appointment on 26th of January 2010 i.e. exactly on the 28th day before my eligibility date which is 22nd of Feb 2005.

so if they say "you can not apply before 28 days" of eligibility date I am safe right ? i.e. because I shall be applying on the 28th day itself.

Hope I have made myself clear on this.

Simple maths, works this to your being eligible on 21/02, you are applying on 26/01, which is 27 days, you will be okay at 28 days as well. You cannot apply before 28 days which is a day earlier than your application date.

You will be fine by applying exactly on the 28th day. I am completing 5 years on WP on 10th Jan 2010 and I applied for ILR on 14th Dec 2009 i.e. exactly on 28th days period. I have been granted approval.

make sure your documents are in right order and you should be fine.

Guyz when one is not sure of 28 days then why will anyone take appointment exactly on that day, i wonder cant they take 5 days after to be on safe side! why to carry the anxiousness with you where u can easily avoid. any way all the best.

I think the main reason for me to carry the anxiousness was the lake of availability of the appointments. I am some all of us here in this post would have one or the other reason to do so.

Cisadi when did you arrive in the UK? Thats the date you need to calculate your 5year stay. I am assuming you applied for WP from outside the UK

I came to the UK as a student in 2001 and got the WP in 2005, Valid From date on the stamp is 22 Feb 2005. I was in the UK when I got the WP.

In that case you will be alright. I have seen a number of times when people confuse the date of the issue of the Visa with the date of entry into the UK

Just out of curiosity, which date would be considered as my eligibility date i.e. whether it would be 21st Feb 2010 or 22nd Feb 2010 i.e. from which date should I start calculating 28 days ?

i.e. 22(1),21(2),20(3).... or

21(1), 20(2),19(3).....

I think if someone knows the answer for sure, it would certainly help others like me.
