I believe there may be a problem or a tough nut that may surface when I apply in January 2011 and I would need someone to argue this case for me or be with me or handle this case. It is regarding my original visa or leave to remain for my current job, which started in January 2006 (not the work permit itself, just the Further leave to remain). I need a good immigration solicitor who can help me with this and not allow this to jepordise my chances of getting ILR. Please help.

thanks
my extended work tier 2 visa ends on 3 july 2011. This is after is has been extended to grant me five years. Tech, on the WORK PERMIT, I will have been a worker for five years but it could be a little different regarding actual visa or leave to remain, even though I have evidence that I've been working for five years.

What is the issue GSOtodd?
Your 5 year period does start when you got leave, not when the permit was issued, so I cannot see a problem with applying in January 2011 as far as dates are concerned.
