Hi Everyone,

My husband is on a 2 year settlelement visa and needs to apply for ILR soon.

I would be much obliged if anyone could help with these questions;

1. Do you apply for ILR according to the visa commencing date or the date of entry to UK?

2. Am I as a british national okay to be claiming working tax credit and child benefit ( I work full time aswell 50+p.w)?

3. Is there a CRB carried out on the application which we would need to wait for/pay for?

4. If we submit the application via post, when would my passport be returned? Would I have to wait til the whole application is completed?

5. For proof of finances, how many months bank statements should I provide?

Many Thanks

Dee

Assuming you're talking about SET(M) here - most of your questions can be answered by reading the form and the guide. Particularly 1 and 5.

On the others - question 2 can be answered by a quick search of the forums.

3 - not as far as I know

4 - yes - when the entire application is done.

Apply no earlier than 28 days before the 2nd anniversary of the date your husband first entered the UK on this visa...but no later than the expiry date.
No CRB check needed.
