Hi Guys,

How do you calculate the absents? Do you count departing and arrival days as well?

E.g:

Mr X departed from London to France on 01/01/2010 and came back (arrived) from France to Londn on 10/01/2010.

How many absents ( in uk )?

Dr Logic....

The days you depart and arrive from this country is excluded as you are present at some point of the day in the country.

In your example X is absent from the country for 8 days as on the 01/10/2010(exit) and 10/10/2010(entry) he is in the UK.

So from the 10 days if we take off exit and entry dates we get 8 days of absence. But when you fill the applications to the Home Office, you have to write the date of exit and entry ad then mention the reason of absence.

Regards......
