I've just written a letter to request SAR plus £10. My immig history stretches way way back to 12 or 13 years legal stay.

How long did it take for you to get your SAR from the UKBA? and what kind of stuff do they provide you with?

information fro FOI

Post by boonbin » Sat Apr 10, 2010 3:04 am

Thank you for your email of the 12 March 20010. This falls to be dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

I am writing to request the following under the FOI act:

what is the average processing time of postal applications which are not completed in the 6 months service standard, in the past 6months?

471 Days*

what is the average processing time of 10 year SET (O)ILR postal applications which are not completed in the 6 months service standard, in the past 6 months.

497 Days*

what is the average waiting timeline not decided after 6 months for 5% of applicants?

This is the same question as above i.e. cases that have not been completed within 6 months and therefore the answer is 497 days.

In keeping with the spirit and effect of the Freedom of Information Act, all information is assumed to be releasable to the public unless exempt. The Department will, therefore, be simultaneously releasing to the public the information you requested together with any related information that will provide a key to its wider context.

Notes: 1. Applications based on cases raised between the 1 Feb 2009 and the 28 Feb 2010. 2. Decision, Average and Maximum figures based on cases despatched between the 1 Feb 2009 and the 28 Feb 2010. 3. All figures rounded to the nearest 5 (except the average). 4. Figures based on local Management Information only and are not subject to National Statistics Protocol.

this means that for 30% of applications and not 5% the processing time is more than a year.Another foi on the internet(have already posted a link earlier) suggests that current processing target of 6 months has been reached for 70% of applicants and not 95%.

Hello Everyone

I had posted a query on this forum but havn't received any reply so far so posting the query here as a lot of members on this thread may be in the same situation.

People who have completed all 10 years of their continuous legal stay in the UK purely on a student visa and after having applied and received their ILRs from the Home Office, what are the ‘standard documents’ they may have to submit when they are then applying for citizenship after having received their ILRs (esp. if they have neither studied nor worked in the 12 months after they received their ILRs)?

Wow! The "received" list is now longer than the waiting list

Congrats to everyone that has received their ILR over the past week. Such a huge relief for all of you.

On a personal note, it's my 3 month (12 week) anniversary this week. If the theory is correct that rejects hear within 3 months then I see that as a positive. Another 4 months waiting to go!! Or longer .... who knows

Meanwhile, i just got my SAR aknowledgement letter today. The UKBA's shambolic admin managed to change my surname to something completely different but it's still progress!
