WP -> HSMP -> Tier1 -> ILR?

Dear all,

My case is bit complicated.

I came to UK on WP in June 2007. Later 2007 I applied for HSMP and got the approval letter in Jan 2008.

I submitted my passport and the letter for HSMP visa in April (as I was on business trips in between) and I got my Tier 1 visa in end April. Home office transferred me into Tier1 based on points I gained from HSMP. This is a 3 year visa.

Hence I'll need to get an extension before April 2011. UKBA stated that I am still under the original point based system for extension so the April 2010 change won't affect me. It doesn't matter anyway as I will qualify under the new point base system.

My query is whether I am eligible for ILR in 2012 June?

I understand rules change in JULY 2011. Will the change be affecting me? The change indicate that I will only get a probation citizenship in June 2012, and I could get either the passport or the PR in one year or three years depending on the so called active citizenship, which is a joke as I will need to show that I'm "active" by doing some volunteering work. After 5 full working days I have my family to look after in weekends!

Please can anybody give me some advice?

Many thanks.

We should go for another JR. That's the only way to deal legally with such biased and unethical rules. I am sure this would be in pipeline if rules are implemented in such a manner.

Any suggestions guys!
