qualifying period for ILR

hi folks,

i have a query too as regard to the ILR under HSMP.

in a case that an hsmpian got her/his visa (hsmp) in june 06 but actually entered only after 3months, i.e. in sep 06. the seto guidance clearly rules the qualifying period of 5 year runs from the date entered the country; and it explicitly instructs to seek another extension of stay to complete the qualifying period. however, it is not that explicit about which guidance applies in such an extension application. so, it's still matter of wandering that how to apply for such extension?

may i know, if any one has answer or advice over this matter.

thank you in anticipation.

cheers.

ILR clock starts when you enter UK which means in your case, Sept 2011. Applicants who have HSMP are protected by HSMP JR (PRE NOVEMBER 2006) and hence you shall qualify for ILR in Sept 2011. New law coming in July 2011 won't affect you

Cheers
