Married 4 yrs..outside UK..how to get ILR

I am new here and I am sorry if this particular question has already been asked. I did look through the posts and tried to find my answer, but alas I did not...so the question I have is...
This July 21st my husband and I will have been married for 4 yrs. (we live in the USA right now) He was wanting to go back home to England in early June to look for a job and rent a place for us to live...per the requirements for me to get a spousal visa to the UK. If he goes over a month or so before me, we will technically not be living in the same home, because he has to be in the UK to get these things sorted out....so looking at our circumstance...would I still be eligible to apply for the KOL Req' endorsement so that when I got to the UK I could take the life in the UK test, then get my ILR?
Or because he is going over before me, and we technically won't be in the same home, does this disqualify me for the KOL Req' endorsement?
This is all so confusing. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you.
