Dear all,

I have a question regarding the date I can apply for settlement under Work Permit.

I have started employment in UK in September 2005 under work permit arrangement (My work permit starts from September 2005). I applied for a work visa in June 2005 and got the Visa on the same day.

Theoretically, I should be entitled to apply for the Unlimited Leave to Remain this year. My question is if I can apply for Unlimited Leave to Remain:
1. In June this year (5 years from the day I got the Visa) or
2. In September this year (5 years from the dat I started my job)

Did you get the visa stamped whilst in the UK or outside and what is the start date of the visa?

I actually changed the VIsa from a student visa to a work visa under work permit arrangement. I got the visa while I am in the UK.

The start date of this visa is June 2005, the date when I got it.
