Am I eligible to apply for Permanente Residence?

I came to the UK as Work Permit Holder on August 2006 but I have started work on November 2006, my first WP was for two years than I got a 5 years extension after a successful application by my employer. The extension will expire on July 2013. However I am applying for Tier2 now because I had a job offer from different company.

I have to mention that I previously visited and worked in the UK for a short period (3 months) under work permit on 2002.

I have been continuously employed since November 2006 under work permit authorisation and all my holidays were abroad approximately 4 weeks every year.

Am I eligible to apply for a permanent residence? Please help
Thanks

You will be eligible to apply for ILR after 5 of continous stay. As you are eligible in the 2nd half of next year, i would suggest you keep an eye on the UKBa website and on this forum as there are changes planned to come into place sometime in July 2011 which will affect you

Thanks for your reply,

What do you mean by 5 years continuous? is that mean I don't have to go abroad for holidays during my annual leave?

Thanks again

Thanks again for your prompt reply,

I hope the coming rules are not going to affect the required 5 years time and to make it longer!
