hi All,

I am on Tier 1 and if rules dont change then I will be eligible for ILR in June 2012, however I had a question about number of days that are spent outside. I know total number of days is 180 and not continous 90 days of absence.

I have spent 85 days so far in India ( holidays ) and
I have spend 64 days in Holland for business purpose. now I have left the company that i used to work before when I have travelled to holland, so how can I justify that this days were indeed business purpose ?

I have my payslips for those months when I have travelled to Holland and my visa too was business schengen visa but I dont know if I will need more documents to justify that as a business trip.

Kindly advise

It looks like all your absences are within 180/90 rule - so should be ok without further justification.

You were paid in the UK while travelling/working in Holland and can prove it by your payslips (good you have them all!) - this sounds enough for me.

You may also wish to contact your former employer asking for a letter confirming your business trips (though I don't think it is that necessary in your case).

I have very slim chances of getting any letter from my previous employer ( consultancies I tell you !! ), but I will check with them , however I jsut wanted to be sure if I will be needing those because the overall stay outside will end up being less than 180 days

Why do you want to claim your absences for business trip when your total absence is within 180 days?

By the way, you wont be applying for ILR in 2012. ILR will be a thing of past from july 2011.

I know what you mean lookforward but I believe even if they replace ILR with probationary citizenship the rules of eligibility will definitely check on continous presence in UK and economic activity....
