Hey folks,

I was given a work permit by me company in nov 2005 for 2 yrs, after that i went on hsmp visa for another 2 years, i.e nov 2007-nov 2009 , further applied for an extention on hsmp tier 1, got that till nov 2012.

Now my confusion is , can i apply for indefinite leave in nov 2010?? as i would be completing 5 years on a work visa or do i have to complete 5 years on hsmp? Does that matter?

Regards.

You will qualify for ILR after completing 5 years in the UK from the date your leave to remain as WP holder was issued (not your WP issue date).

gr8, thanks mate. I wasnt sure if 5 yr rule is on hsmp only or whether it could be a mixture of work visas as in my case. i.e. work permit from a company and hsmp later on.

Thanks again.
