Hi All,

Working holiday Maker visa period of stay, will be considered for ILR?

I came to this country as a working holiday maker on Dec2005 but i had swithed to HSMP oct2006. will it be possibe to count working holiday maker stay for ILR. if it would be countable then i am already eligible for ILR ...if not then i will have to wait untill oct2011...

Any views are more than welcome.

I don't believe so unfortunately, no. I was in the same situation - switched from my 2 year working holidaymaker into hsmp, but i have had to do the full 4 years on hsmp to qualify for ILR. as i understand it it is because working holidaymaker is not considered to be a route to settlement.

Working holiday would only be valid when applying under the long residence (10 year legal) rule. In your case, October 2011 comes much sooner.
