Hi guys,

My husband received a letter from the UKBA today with all the all supportive documents we have supplied. It has been 7 weeks so far. He applied for the ILR based on the 10 years long residence.

In this letter, it was saying that 'A decision has been taken on your application and you will shortly receive notification of that decision, along with any valuable doc...' One of his photos has been returned as well.

I felt quite worry now. Why did they return one of the photos? Why didn't they tell us what kind of decision has been taken? Is it a bad news? Should I contact any immigration advisers for the possible appeal?

The money has been taken from his account on early May. Apart from my husband's passport, the police registration and the Life in the UK test certificate haven't been returned as well.

Can anybody advise? Do you have the same experience?

UKBA keeping the Life in the UK test cert can be a good pointer that ILR has been granted. Best to wait for a few days and wait for the actual decision to come round. No point winding yourself up by pondering over something that has already been decided.

i think they have granted the ILR. otherwise they would have returned the passports as well. majority of the people recieve a letter and then the passport with ILR. dont think worry...think positive :)

Thanks a lot! I appreciate that.

It's the only thing I can do anyway.

I second all the above - my KOL test certificate wasn't returned as well and it was a successful application.

Hi guys,

Thank you very much for all the advices. My husband has received his ILR just 2 days after the notification letter.

It means that letter is a good sign. Good luck to everyone!
