Extensions out of time?

Could anyone kindly advise if several applications were made for student extensions in a 10year long residency application in time, but the visa stamp was stamped out of date due to delay in processing by the home office how this is going to affect the 10year residency application? The applicant has lost the royal mail recorded delivery reference numbers and slips unfortunately. Is there anyway that you can prove the student extension applications were made ontime?

They should and when you receive your SAR file, check the records carefully. They should have recorded the date of the postmark as your 'case raised' date. As long as this one's 'in time' you'll be fine. If there's a mistake then you might need to provide your postal receipts as proof that the application was indeed made 'in time'
