Hi, I have found that who are applying from India (dependant visa) need to write english test now. I thought this is going to be implemented in Novermber, but seems it already started.

I have posted this query in other group as well. sorry for posting here.

My question is do dependants applying for ILR need to write life in UK and ESOL?

thanks for help.

Where did you find this out from? See also New English language testing for partners.

English test starting in November, that you refer to, is different from ESOL/Life in the UK test (which has existed for quite a while now). And it does not apply to your dependent since you are neither settled nor a citizen.

Whether your dependent will need to take an ESOL course or just the Life in the UK test before applying for settlement depends on his/her proficiency in English language. See ESOL course in English with citizenship.

When is your settlement due and when is your dependent intending to submit the EC application?

EC stands for Entry Clearance, i.e. a visa in other words.
