I am in Tier 2 currently valid until Apr 2012. I have breaks, which i will explain later, but i need help in knowing whether a Tier 2 candidate is eligible for ILR now ?

I do not quite understand your question: Yes, a Tier 2 holder is eligible to ILR in principle. Whether it is now or then depends crucially on his/her immigration history, etc... (which you do not provide).

So, what is the point of your post?

I think what the OP means is whether Tier 2 is one of the valid routes for settlement in the UK. Yes it is.
