WP ILR - Do I need to prove employment history?

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I need to get letters from all my old employers verifying employment dates.
Also, can I get details of my exit/entry from/to the UK through an SAR?

AFAIK, SAR file contains details only of your very first entry into the UK (landing card copy). So, all the other entries need to be fetched out from somewhere else (e.g., passport stamps). But wait for other forum members to reply...
