ILR - LONG ABSENCE

Hello,
I came in early Sep 2003 (work permit / Tier 2) and i was moving in and out of UK till date. I prepared an excel sheet containing my absence till date. I have one of the longest absence nearly 500 days (including UK holidays and weekends). I deducted these holidays for the said period and ie nearly 380+. Apart from these i have small breaks. The total number of breaks is nearly 600+ days now.
I have valid reason for this absence. My mother's health condition, My son born and was with his grand parents. My family could not travel. No opportunity through current employer. Myself having eye problems and undergoing treatments.
My VISA was continuous from 2003 to till date (and available till apr 2012).
As of date, i would have gained 7 yrs of stay in UK, if it is continual. With this period and with 90days eligible absence per year, Can i apply for ILR ?
Having lived in UK for so long (with these absence), Will this justify to proceed for ILR.
Kindly suggest on my next steps.

If the 500 days falls over 5 years prior to the date you want to apply, then you can apply, if not, then wait until it's more than 5 years past that long absence.
