Fastest way to get ILR for my wife

Hello,

I'm at the moment on Tier 1 (General) visa. I'm completing my 5 years (WP + Tier 1) for ILR next month (January 2011). My current Tier 1 visa expires in May 2011.

I got married in March 2009. My wife came to UK on Tier 1 dependent in July 2009. She has Tier 1 dependent visa until May 2011.

I have few questions,

1. If I apply for my ILR in January 2011, can my wife apply withe me for ILR?
2. If I delay my ILR application until May 2011, is there any chance for my wife to get ILR with me?

I think answer is NO as she hasn't completed her 2 year requirement. Any thoughts...

3. If I get my ILR in January 2011 and then my wife apply for FLR (M). When my wife can apply for ILR? Is it in July 2011? Or 2 years from getting FLR(M)?

Is thoughts of getting my wife ILR soon with cost effective way? I really appreciate your thoughts.

I'm sorry about the wrong year. I have edited my post now. It should be,
"I got married in March 2009. My wife came to UK on Tier 1 dependent in July 2009"

if you want my opinion, i would say that you apply as soon as you become eligible. then your wife can apply when she is eligible. there is no certainty after april next year with this government IMHO so better to get yours sorted.

admittedly it will cost twice but i think its worth it...

for my knowledge, if OP's partner came in july 2009 to UK how can she apply in May 2011. is there not a minimum 2 year requirement which would mean it's in July 2011 and not May 2011?

Thank you xyz123 & sushdmehta.

I also thought my wife can't apply for ILR until July 2011 as she came to UK in July 2009.
Issue is, as xyz123 pointed out, double cost and uncertainity when govenment changes rules. I think I have to make my mind unless there is some hidden provision. Thanks a lot again.
