Hi
Process was fine, until I gave her a letter from my parents to say that we lived in their home. Then she started asking my husband, had he lived in the Uk before, what were his reasons before, when did he come to the UK first time and when did he leave. She said she would do some checks. She came back and started looking at the computer, no word of a lie, she must have looked at his passport over 20 times! She said there is something wrong in the system and could we wait in the waiting area and she would call us back. We waited an hour, so stressed thinking we would recieve bad news. We then heard a group of numbers called out and they called our number. They then told us that he had recieved ILR. Terrible service in Croydon, we were not reassured by the officer at all. But he got it, thats all that matters!
The documents they were interested in were:
Hubbys 3 month pay slips.
3 Month Joint bank statements.
Both our HMRC Tax code notices.
Hubbys letters, doctors, NI, NHS Medical card, car insurance,
My polling card, car insurance, NHS letter, pension forecast.
Tax credits letters.
As long as you have all your evidence there seems to be no problems.
Good luck to all!

Hi, thanks for sharing!
Could you put some light on how much income you showed?

She just took three of my husbands latest payslips, they were £830 each month. She took the lastest 3 bank statements. At the time that the bank statement was produced each month we had a balnce of just over £1000.
I had included a statement showing my savings, but she didnt even look at it.

Well I earn 600 and my wife earns 600 p/month ASWELL. Is that enough and we do have savings of over 6000.

Hi
No we didn't have a solicitor. I don't believe you need one as the application itself is very straight forward, it is stressful waiting to submit it!
Your documents sound fine. You should provide a letter from you brother saying that you live in his house and the dates you have lived there. Also get him to write in the letter if you pay him any money towards bills.
You will be fine as long a you submit all the information they require.
