Employer letter required for Tier 1/Work Permit?

Hi, apologies if this has already been posted somewhere, I searched but could not find it.
I had a work permit from Sept 2005 - November 2008, then got a Tier 1 visa from November 2008 to present (1 week break of employment if that matters?)
I am just wondering whether I would need a letter from my current employer stating I am needed for a foreseeable future?
I have P60s for all years.
Thanks.

Just to add, the complete list of documents I have is:
1. P60s for each tax year completed completed('05/06, '06/07, '07/08, '08/09, '09/10)
2. Pay stubs from Sept 2005 - Sept 2010 while I was on Work Permit (missing one pay stub, October 2010)
3. Bank statements for the past 13 months with my current employer showing my salary payment
4. One P45 when switched my job in November 2010.
4. Life in UK pass of course
Will I need a letter from my employer, or is this list sufficient?
Thanks
