Post by m_man1 » Fri Mar 04, 2011 12:06 am

Dear gurus need your help and advice

One of my friend is going to apply for ilr and he has a p60 missing for a tax year and after going through the forum threads was able to get required information and he recieved a P60 from Hmrc today it mentions the income and tax paid but the start date and end date columns are blank

he had switched employers (and so has a p-60 missing)will this P-60 in form of a letter solve the purpose of missing p-60

kindly reflect your thoughts

It should be okay. Suggest he also carries all his payslips for that year.
All the best

You can show employer's letter(or experience letter) or payslips for that period. 5 years P60 is to make sure you have continutiy in employment. Even I had one P60 missing for which I show employer's experience letter.

Hi Chetanojha,

I have been in continous employment with the same firm since 2004, i have lost my p60 and I got my WP in 2006, do you think a letter from employer stating that i was in employment since the 2004 till date suffice. Since i will be getting my p60 in march just before I apply in april I will be able to submit only one.
Is this ok.
I have just to be on a safer side asked HMRC to send me the employment history and paye coding notices too but I am not sure if i can get it before I apply.
