Gap in visa??

Just want to clarify something.

I got HSMP Pre Nov 2006 then applied for extension (Teir 1 )in july 2008 before expiry of visa. 2 year hsmp was supposed to expire on 10/08/08 and teir was stamped on 04/09/08 but certainly passport was with home office. I am wondering if this would be considered as Gap in visa or it can cause any problem for ILR as I am about to complete 5 years.

Thanks

It isn't a gap, so nothing to be worried about.

Do you still have the acknowledgment letter that you applied for Tier 1 extension before 10/8/08? That is the simplest way to prove that you applied in time and there wouldn't be a problem.

Thanks Sushdmehta and bani for kind replies.

Yes bani I have acknowledgement letter issued on 05/08/08 which is prior to expiry of visa.

Regards.
