HSMP -> Tier1 -> ILR

Hi all
Checking in to the requirements for an ILR application.
I am a South African, self employed from the date of my application for HSMP, received on 30/07/07, so I can apply for my ILR next year however I am just checking what the requirements are, is it the same as a tier1 application with all the payslips etc.
Is there something I need to know about changing from HSMP to Tier1?
Do you need to meet an earnings requirement?
Is there anything I should look out for?
Could someone steer me in the direction of where I can see all the requirements, I have searched the forum but there is not a exact match for me.
