I am unclear about the new ILR criteria- "the applicant must satisfy the same income requirement that was applicable when previous application was made "

does it mean I need to show the same salary I claimed the points for when I applied for my tier 1 extension ?

no, my understanding is you'd need the same salary criteria. e.g. check how much salary you needed exactly from page 30: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... iew=Binary
