I am sorry if its repeat question but i am unable to find the required information.

I came UK for my masters, after master applied for HSMP and got approval on 22nd Nov 2006 (applied sometime before 6th Nov 2006). I sent my passport for HSMP stamp in March 2007 for 2 years until March 2009.

Applier for extension Feb 2009 for next 3 years until Feb 2012.

My hsmp was under old scheme, and extension was under same rules (there was no point system)

Now after going through discussions and proposed changes by HO, I am bit confused, It would be a great favour if you please be kind, I am new to board.
and please advise on

- For ILR in 2012, do i need to meet points for salary, qualification, age, etc or I'll be considered under old category?
- Do I or my wife need to pass knowledge of life or any other test

I am not on very good pay but £20K per year, Masters and with family of 4

- Under what criteria I'll be applying for ILR? funds? bank balance, monthly pay?

Waiting for your kind response

advance thanks
-
