Why is your employer reluctant, because you really do need that letter.

Facts:
1. There is no legal obligation for the employer to issue a letter to support your settlement application.
2. If you apply without a letter from employer as required by theimmigration rules, your application may be refused.

It is between you and your employer to figure out the way forward.

recently he made changes to the policies of the company and is doing cost cutting. he might dismiss me from my job in future which is the only reason i can see.

You require a support letter from him for ILR, not a guaranteed job extension letter. Thats your best bet to make him give you such a letter.

Hi Sushdmehta,

You are right about the letter for WP/Tier 2. Just wanted to check, am I right in thinking that the employee letter stating that you are needed is not required if you are on the Tier 1 (G)

Thanks,
