Help .10 years long residency/ life in the uk test

My ten years will complete in sep 2012 and my current visa will finish in april 2013 so i think i should be ok to apply ILR just needed to know in regards to Life in the uk test when i can do that and how you do that and does my dependant have to do this aswell or only me .And things needed to support mine and my dependant application .
I know its too early i am asking this question i just wanted to prepare myself in advance

yes you would need LIUK test and any dependant over 18 years should take either LIUK or ESOL. IMO your wife would get ILR after 2 years of you getting ILR and you have to show cohabitation during that period.
