Hello all,

I am on Workpermit status since Jan 2007 working as a reception supervisor in a 4/5 star hotel. And I am going to apply for ILR application in Jan 2012.

My questions is my workpermit letter issued in 2007 mention annual salary of £16000 for my position and since then my salary have been increased to £35000 due to my involvement in other hotels which are part of the same company.

Please advise if this will impact anything on the application? Current code of practice is showing minimum rates for Hotel Reception Manager is £17000

Thanks in advance for your advice.

I think your only problem is your salary now is too high, it might make UKBA think your job title has changed, have you ever report your salary increase to UKBA? I think you'd better find a lawyer or immigration advisor.

Will it help if I ask my employer to reduce my salary?

Well, it's a bit drastic I think, but I think a lawyer or immigration advisor should give you better advice on this issue than I can.

If your higher pay is due to over time, then you should only show your basic 40hr/week pay, which is your "proper" pay.

Or define some of your pay as a bonus or something, but I am not too sure about this one.
