Just wondering if anyone can enlighten me about the rules on 10 yr long residency, it seems to say if you have been legal resident for 10 years you get automatice 2 year extension to your current leave classification...

I thought you would get ILR straight away, am I reading this wrong or do you first get 2 year extension?

Thanks for any information.

thanks Vinny, but yeah I read that, that is where my question is coming from. It makes reference to a 2 year extenstion for Long Residency of 10 years, and for 14 years settlement with freedom to work plus come and go...

Just confuses me, as I thought that everyone after 10 years gets ILR, with freedom to work with whom they choose and come and go, of course within the remit of ILR.

thanks,
