If the child was resident in the UK in the legal care of another adult, you could apply for a visa that would allow you access to that child. Does your ex wish to have a life that includes regular contact with the child? Without this it is not easy to see how you are able to apply for this type of leave.

I lived in Uk 3 years with my husband who is british citizen, my kid hold british passport, until child was 2 years old we all lived in UK as a family. Child is with me. I take care of child, child father dont see kid. We want to go back to UK, so I dont know under what laws can we come to UK and live there. We moved from UK 7 years ago. I had leave to remain without request to public funds for 2 years when I was married, when its expire we send documnts to home office for ilr, but after we withdraw them. And me and our kid left with me. My ex dont have wish to have contact with our child.
