I had been on student status for last 9 years and 11 months.
my visa expires on 31-12-2011. my 10 years complete on 13-01-2012. 13 days are less. I have heard from someone that I can apply for ilr even if 13 days are less. please help n also tell me the reference.

1. You can apply 28 days or less before completing the 10 years period and in u case u wud be fine to apply.
2. Read the guidance as suggested above for more details.

actually my visa is expiring 13 days before the completion of 10 years.

I am still confused that is this facility of 28 days for those
1- who have valid visa and according to their visa they will complete 10 years leagally and they want to apply 28 days before

2- or for those whose visa is expiring before the completion of 10 years and they still can apply for ilr if it is only 28 days or less.

as long as your application was recieved by HO 17 Dec 2011 , you'll be fine. - so you better be rushing off to the nearest post office and post your paper work today so they have it before your visa expires i.e 31st Dec 2011

also keep in mind its busy period for post
