Hi, I am applying for ILR in Jan 2012 and I am a self employed under General Tier1.
I came in Dec 2006 as Work Permit and got my First Tier1 in May 2007.
Then I got extension of Tier1 in May 2011.
In point based system in ILR I need to choose one option..
one is :
Applications for indefinite leave to remain where an applicant has had leave as a Writer, Composer or Artist, Self-employed lawyer, or as a Tier 1 (General) Migrant under the Rules in place before 6 April 2010

Second is :
Applications for indefinite leave to remain where previous leave as a Tier 1 (General) Migrant was granted under the Rules in place on or after 6 April 2010

Which option I need to choose ?
As My First Tier 1 granted in May 2007 then should I choose 1st option or my extension granted on May 2011 So I need to choose second option ?

I am yet to apply but I am using date when first tier 1 was issued, which was before 6th april 2010. You have had leave as tier 1 general since you first applied for it.

any other views here?

If your first grant of leave on Tier 1 was prior to 6th Apr 2010 (in your case May 2007 is before 6th Apr 2010), then you should choose Option 1.

Just a question:
If you have got your first Tier1 in May 2007, how can you get extension in May 2011? You should have got extension in May 2010, I think.

Thx..
I put the wrong info by mistake..
I got my first Tier1 on may 2008 not in May 2007.
So it mean I need to choose option 1.

Hi santyiit,

I have similar situation. I came in WP in Jan 2007 and got my Tier 1 in June 2008, extended in June 2011. I am choosing Option 1.

I am going for same day service at Croydon on 7th Feb.
